My Feeds

A feed is a subscription for sharing ongoing content with your community! Feeds can be accessed via subscription only, either for free or paid at a price you set. Set a price you think your subs will want to pay for the content and benefits you’re providing on that subscription feed!

How to Create a Subscription Feed

To create a Feed:

  • Click the + icon

  • Add a feed icon image

  • Name your Feed

  • Give a detailed description

  • Set a price or leave for free

  • Set up Custom Welcome DM (see below for details)

  • Set up Custom Welcome Email (see below for details)

  • Click ‘Create’ and you’re done!

Subscribers and new users you’ve invited to join your community will now be given this new Feed as a subscription option. Edit the Feed name, icon or description at any time!

Pro-tips for Creating a Feed Subscription

  • Be as clear as possible when writing the description for each Feed. Let your audience and potential subscribers know what exactly they can expect from subscribing!

  • Bullet points are always a clean and simple way to list out the benefits of your subscription.

  • Deliver! Be sure to provide the content and benefits you listed in the description, especially if it’s a paid subscription!

Custom Welcome DM

Capture immediate engagement with a Welcome Direct Message (DM)! You can create a custom free or paid welcome DM with a cover photo for each subscription feed. When a user subscribes to a feed, they will instantly receive this welcome DM in their inbox. Think of this as a great time to create a CTA (call to action) and to set the tone for what your subscribers can expect going forward being part of your community.

Paywalling content is a part of this new Welcome DM feature! This means that as soon as your new sub subscribes to your free or paid feed you can send ‘locked’ photos or video(s). Try any idea you want, but we’ve seen many find success promoting that this is the only time the sub will be able to purchase this specific paywalled content. You’ll also notice you can add a cover photo with the Welcome DM so your subs can get an idea of what you’re offering for purchase. We hope you enjoy this new way to earn revenue with your community!

Utilize this Welcome DM to reinforce benefits provided by the feed for new subscribers, similar to what you might include with your Welcome Email. With your Welcome DM you can include photos or a video. Maybe you want to include a video you’ve created where you’re thanking them for subscribing and give them an idea of what they can expect as the newest member of your community! There’s lots of options here so be creative and definitely test different ideas over time.

As a reminder, if your subscriber purchases content from your paywalled Welcome DM, the unlocked content will be available both in their DM as well as in their Vault. Also, while you also have your Welcome Email, this is just an additional feature added to drive engagement and ideally drive quicker transactions. We feel keeping subs on the platform makes more sense than them going to their email provider.

To create your Custom Welcome DM on each subscription feed:

  1. Toggle your Custom Welcome DM switch on

  2. Upload a cover photo (see Cover Photo section for details)

  3. Upload your media

  4. Enter in your message in the Description section

  5. Add an optional price for your subscribers on this feed to unlock the media

Pro-tips for creating your Custom Welcome DM

  • Use this as an opportunity to welcome your new subscribers and thank them for subscribing!

  • Include a simple question, ie: ‘what’s your name?’ ‘where are you from?’ This creates immediate engagement and prompts them to reply.

Cover Photos

Add an optional cover photo when creating a post, sending a mass DM or creating your welcome DM! Cover photos are required for shop listings.

A cover photo is the first image shown on the post, DM or shop listing.

If no cover photo is added on a free feed post or DM, the first photo or video in the upload will be the first piece of content shown. If no cover photo is added on a paid (paywalled/locked) feed post or DM, there will be no image shown (only a lock icon).
